• Maintenance Mechanic/Manager

Penner waste a small family-owned waste company is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic/Manager that would be dedicated to the commitment, improvement and growth of the company Fleet Maintenance Program.
The ideal candidate would have the expectation of:
- managing and maintaining a fleet of up to 35 units including but not limited to front load, rear load and roll-off trucks, excavators, loaders and skid steers.
- The challenge of Developing planning or improving the existing preventive maintenance plan
- An expectation to work Hands-On with repairs and maintenance
- Managing a team of up to two mechanics helpers over multiple locations
- Performing scheduled and unscheduled Service Repairs while following through to meet deadlines
- Carry out diagnostics, maintenance and necessary repairs of heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment
- Perform work that includes electrical, interior, air brake system, hydraulic, tire, and welding as required
- Complete safety inspections (if licensed to)
- Order parts, Keep and maintain reports and Records.
- The ability to create a functional and stable time management plan.
- Keep up with regular Communication with/work as a team with other departments.
- Coach, motivate and improve driver assisted preventive maintenance.
- Flexible to on demand service calls and hours vary as required
- Assist with overall equipment maintenance
- The ability to work with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-past work environment with the understanding of being a team player.
- Tire Repair
- Reporting to General manager and owners
- Heavy Duty. Red Seal Journeyman Certification
- Minimum five years' experience in a heavy duty diesel truck shop.
- Welding experience
- Strong leadership and organization skills
- English speaking and writing
- Computer Literate
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment or unsupervised.
- Own Tools, Boots and coveralls
- Service Truck an Asset but not a requirement
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day. Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods.
Salary depending on experience between $58-66,000
Group Insurance Plan
Hours vary Typically between 6am - 5pm Mon - Friday, some Saturdays.
